Rents across the country are at the highest levels ever.
Supply needs to be increased with urgency to halt the tide of homelessness. As well as bringing vacant homes back into use, local authorities need to start building social housing and affordable rental accommodation. There is an over-reliance on the private rented market, which is clearly not working:
