DAFT reports finds rents at highest level since its records began in 2002

Daft’s most report finds rents at highest levels since records began in 2002. In the capital they have increased by 13.7% and in Limerick by 12.5%, yet the latter city has not been considered a rent pressure zone by government! Outside of Dublin, the rate of increase was greater in Limerick than any other city.

More needs to be done to stimulate development and bring vacant property back into use. With more than 2,500 vacant properties in Limerick City alone, the housing shortage can be addressed.
